MODOONESS

Individual Project March -May 2020
Modooness explores the future of food accessibility as global warming intensifies and natural disasters worsen. The project speculates on new ways of living and eating in response to an increasingly fragile environment. It envisions adaptive solutions for sustaining food resources in a rapidly changing world.

MODOON

As global temperatures rise to 100°C due to climate change, humans are forced to migrate to mountains and seas, leading to two distinct ways of living.

Mountain Modooness forms "tribal cities" shaped by the land, while Ocean Modooness expands outward from central hubs into "satellite city communities."

With extreme resource scarcity, both societies develop unique diets and industries while relying on strict distribution systems and centralized power to survive.

Modooness is derived from "Maroon," meaning exile to an island, and the transliterated Chinese "MODO," meaning a magical city

EVOLUTION OF NEWPHINE

With the future extinction of cocoa beans, a new form of caffeine becomes essential. To ease the stress of environmental changes, food scarcity, and emerging diseases, the rise of Newphine is inevitable
