UP: Board game Design
Individual Project Oct-Dec 2022
In this board game, players discover that everyone has an equal chance of winning despite each character’s unique traits and attributes.
The game reinforces the idea that learning and cognition are universal, challenging biases related to age and generation.
Additionally, players can increase their "youthfulness" through active learning, serving as a subtle reminder to cultivate lifelong learning in real-life
ANALYSIS
I organized my insights to focus on helping digital refugees integrate, strengthening parent-child bonds, ensuring ease of use, and providing valuable guidance. These insights inspired four design ideas. In 50 years, will we also resist new knowledge like today’s older generation?
INSIGHT
Using the "water tank model," players are assigned one of six identities: veterans, recruits, ladybugs, dementia, liars, and geniuses—each with unique learning abilities and personalities
These traits are translated into game mechanics, illustrating how, even under the same conditions, individuals absorb and retain new information differently
VIDEO
This animated video showcases the gameplay of my board game, illustrating how different characters, each with unique learning abilities, navigate the process of acquiring and retaining knowledge
